VRI and Qualcomm Announce New Collaboration at mHealth Summit

Franklin, OH, Nov. 9, 2015; VRI and Qualcomm Inc. announced a cooperative effort to develop chronic care management solutions powered by Qualcomm Life’s 2net Platform and VRI’s monitoring solutions.  The announcement was shared at mHealth Summit in Washington DC.  VRI will leverage Qualcomm Life’s 2net Platform to seamlessly transfer biometric data to VRI’s remote patient monitoring programs designed to improve outcomes and reduce costs for payers and providers.

“We are excited to continue growing our ecosystem and working with innovative companies like VRI,” said Rick Valencia, SVP, Qualcomm Life. Together, we are helping shape a new standard of care for chronic care management and remote patient monitoring.  This post-acute care segment is exceptionally important for improving outcomes and reducing unnecessary hospitalizations.”

VRI, a healthcare services company with over 25 years of experience in health monitoring, is one of the largest providers of vitals monitoring, medication adherence and medical alert systems in the US.  VRI’s monitoring services enable seniors, the chronically ill and people with disabilities to maintain their independence and avoid long-term care and hospitalization.  The program serves patients with diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, COPD and asthma.  VRI selected Qualcomm Life as their long-term partner and plans to scale these remote monitoring programs to serve more than 15 million patients in need.

“Qualcomm Life’s open ecosystem approach and leadership in wireless solutions will allow VRI to scale our remote monitoring programs,” said Chris Hendriksen, CEO of VRI.  “By expanding our program, we are able to offer remote monitoring services to more patients who can benefit the most – the chronically ill – to help improve adherence and reduce overall costs.”
